Sport Coat or Suit Jacket

I bought the attached piece off eBay and curious to know from Canali experts if it is a sport coat or suit jacket? It’s NWT, advertised as a Sport Coat, and seller has advised it was designed to be as such.

To clarify, the eBay seller told me it’s a sport coat. Unsure given the very fine stripe. Personally think it would look nice with khaki/tan trousers.

If you like it, wear it. In general, pin stripes are from a suit, but the boundaries on not wearing an "orphaned" suit top as a SC are becoming more porous as people wear suits less and hence are less likely to realize a fine pin stripe jacket is likely to be from a suit.

It looks like a suit jacket. Do you have pics of the inner tag? It would indicate if it is a suit or a sport coat.

Seller dropped the price in an offer and I pulled the trigger. Still have time to return if dissatisfied.

Perhaps why it’s been sitting unsold on eBay. I personally like it and feel it would pair well with tan/khaki. But I fear the wrath of judgmental style snobs.

If you go to a party with a hundred guests maybe one or two of them would know well enough to recognize that you've broken any rules, so don't worry about it and just put together something you feel comfortable in.
