Overpriced? Really? A number of years ago I went to Argenio looking for the Scabal Shetland that Manton was talking up. It was 100 euro for 2m. I thought that was a really good price but didn't get it because I didn't think I would wear it. Do prices in Naples get better than that?

Il vecchio drappiere in Milan OTOH is really expensive.

that price you got
for teh shetland is
quite good
they probably
were trying to
get rid of if

but in general
these two are quite
expensive

i;ve been going
to il vecchio drapperie
for over 10 years
and at least for
me the prices are
quite reasonable

Nice shopping tour. The only way to choose shirting (or suiting) is from the bolt. The books are useless, IMO.

Am I correct to assume that regulars get discounts? I paid the full price on the tag. Was I expected to haggle?

Dammit C&A, you are bad for my wallet!! Just confirmed my order at magnifique....
amuda5ur.jpg

It's the top one, which is, apparently, a 240 grams linen silk mix... It's now waiting on being picked up by the tailor (which will only be at the 1st, as they will close today, for the whole month).

Seems maybe like a strangely timed commission, but it is my first commission at this tailor, so it will require a few fittings, besides, I will be spending some time in the Middle East coming year, so it will fit purpose:)

Anyway, thanks for inspiration C&A and T4
