The lapels and shoulders on the Solito are amazing. Brilliant work.

Those are some fxxx off Solito lapels. Is that a Solito standard DB lapel?

Will have more to say when I find time to write it out.

I'd block out time on your calendar on behalf of StyleForvm - but it's already empty

I like everything Manton posted in this thread.
Weird, I did not expect that.

I think so. He cuts a wide lapel generally.

    Solito DB

Ooooooh. Solito delivers (when he delivers).
Love the jacket. Trousers look kinda wacky from your snapshot. Maybe it's just the photo.

Did you say you had 6 fittings? What else did you order from him? Do you have to go back to Naples for final fittings?

The trousers are Ambrosi and they are fine. Let's try to rememer that this is CLOTH and it's meant to move and ripple and stuff.

I had fittings on six suits:

-B&W (looks mid gray) nailhead fresco, weaver unknown, probably 10 or 11 ounce.
-Dark blue w/royal nailhead (3% silk gives it some sheen), Woodhouse, 10/11 ounce
-Super lightweight mid gray fresco (lighter color than the one above, which is also a good bit heavier), Minnis, 8 ounce
    -Tan tropical, Lesser, 8 ounce
-Tan linen probably 12 ounce, weaver unknown
-Slate blue shark, Minnis, 13 ounce.

We got through the fittings there. I am confident they will be fine. He will ship them or bring them.

The DB was made for NY visits but I brought it back to have the left sleeve corrected and taken in at the waist, which they did while I was there.

Nice haul. Dark blue nailhead with royal blue silk almost sounds sexy [IMG]

I totally understand about judging quick self-taken snapshots. I'm sure the pants are great.

    That DB is freaking fantastic.

    +100. More pics, please.

For the record, I like Mina's SB on you, too. Tall and lanky is a good look, and the lapels are excellent.

I like the DB on you Manton. How much influence do you have on the details of your garments?

Manton: less money on clothing, more money on food. The fit of the trou in the Solito pic is horrendous not to mention the Fooesque shoe sitch. I say this will full respect.

Some. I can specify DB or SB, of course, how many buttons and where the lapels roll, pocket config, etc. I also asked for drape, which Luigi refers to as "comfortable." Beyond that, it's all them.

While I was there, Gennaro showed me an interview with him in an English language magazine in which he said something to the effect that "If you want to dictate how your clothes will look, I am not the tailor for you."

Right, you can tell that from one pic.

    Ah, Style Forum.
