IMHO, they nailed most of the black tie details, the lack of piping on the trousers is disappointing.
Agree on this. Also, it remains to be seen how I feel about the side adjusters over brace buttons (which I assume aren’t included). That said, those wont be seen either way, and I can always have brace buttons added. If I had a choice, I might’ve chose grosgrain over satin for the facings, but that’s not a high priority for me. I do like the inclusion of mohair though- I haven’t really seen that at this price point.

You both nailed it! I got married in the previous version of the Spier Tux and the 1 thing my wife noticed was the lack of piping on the trousers. She also sewed in buttons for braces. Will add photos as soon as we receive them from the wedding photographer.

Exactly. You guys want a small operation to start bringing out that mostly this forum wants and see how long he's in business for.

Go MTM you cheap asses.
Still waiting on MTM to come online.

Can't exactly fly to Toronto every time something strikes my fancy.

Can you add in piping on the trousers after the fact?

I'm not particularly bothered by piping though, don't really care for it

I am always eyeing for a DB, but it seems DB's are really hard to get right. Probably will be in Toronto this year for a proper fitting for a DB.
And this would be the possible outcome if you decide to do so! Mr. Hanchett is legit!!!

Is there a simple blue, navy Neapolitan suit that I can buy? Something I can wear for different occasions e.g. weddings, funerals, business, clubbing?

The more I look at it, the more this navy wool/mohair tux intrigues me. Seems like it'd be super easy to dress up and down. I mean, other than jetted pockets and the silk lapel, it looks pretty standard. Like, I feel you could wear this sans tie at a wedding or with a long tie easily, get a bit creative with it.

Edit: Well, there's silk faced buttons, and only one button. Maybe I'm wrong

I just received my Tux and not only does it lack the piping, but my trousers do not have side tabs. They have belt loops.

This is what's on the site...

The Tux is nice, but some detailings are not that traditional.

- No gallons
- double vents (traditionally it should be no vents)
- side tabs instead of suspender buttons

but I guess that makes sense since the general public won't care for these silly things.

Also, it's 8 weeks passed since I placed my MTM shirt order.

OTR vs. MTM shipping times seem like two completely different companies to me. OTR shipping has always been on time for me, whereas MTM seems more like "it'll show up eventually!".
