Thanks. I'm not familiar with the covert offerings from last year as I wasn't in the market for coverts back then. The current iteration is great however. There's another dark navy that Spier offers which is also part of a suit. I think they're significantly darker (fabric also seems different, more like the covert twill stone fabric) without the colour variation that this heathered version offers.

There's another (Norwegian) affiliate vendor that offers these trousers as well. Their pics are better than Spier's if you want to have another look at the fabric.

It's difficult to find good navy odd trousers. These are definitely one of the better I've come across. Once I saw that Spier stocked them, I didn't hesitate. Happy i did.
Completely different pair but very interesting how similar the closeups of these fabrics appear, which would make sense being "heathered" and twills. I would assume the finish and performance of the coverts are definitely preferred though.

Perfect case of being unable to please everyone. Looks far too denim-y for me, though, admittedly, I'm probably about the worst candidate possible for navy odd trousers, as the odd jacket they would be worn with is almost certainly navy as well :rotflmao:

Big fan of the coverts though. I think I have 7 pairs awaiting pickup from the tailor, and a couple more to send their way.
I feel you 😂 It looks more denim-y in the pic than in reality. It's not denim looking. Trust me. That was my constant fear as well judging by pics before I saw it in reality.

Sorry, going to ask again. Anybody have the crew neck merino wool sweaters? Are they trim fit? Looking for sweater to wear over dress shirt but want it a trim tailored fit not to blocky.

You're right, I've edited my post and removed the pics. Unfortunately I don't have any of the full spread to share, seems to be a new type of collar for OTR.

If anybody does that would be great. I wore this shirt https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/sky-blue-fine-twill-sft-sb-c13f5-k and it was so great! The only flaw was the collar it was not spread out enough to go under my S&M Comp Neo fit jacket. A collar like this would be good, anybody know which on to get when going custom

So I got the jacket. It's beautiful, and really well made. Looks better made than the Valstarino. Unfortunately, it's a lot smaller than what the size guide indicates. It's supposed to be 42.5 inches chest for a 38, I measure 39 inches. I can barely close it.

am intrigued. In what way do you feel it’s better made than the Valstarino?

It's purely based on my feeling and what I remember from the last time I tried a Valstarino. I don't have one on hand to make a more objective comparison. But the leather feels/looks nicer and the finishing seems cleaner.

Yes, I have a couple of them. I believe they are trim fitting, especially over a dress shirt.

I dug up this image wearing size M:

Thanks so much! May I ask your height and weight and what size it is? I'm always a shmedium, can't decide between small and medium. I'm 5'9 160lbs and wear a 38r slim.

Really wish they’d add the sack jacket options (sizing, etc) to MTO. I’ve messaged on IG about it but it seems to be a “soon” with no emphasis on priority or a timeline.
