I know it's a SM thread, but I imagine others here have tried SS as well? How do their jackets and trousers fit compared to SM? I find SS prices their clothes higher than SM, and I've heard complaints in the past that SS pants don't fit them well, but SM doesn't really seem to accomplish that either. SS seems to be offering some nice options but I have no idea about their fit and quality of construction.

Not positive on SS trousers, I didn't pay as much attention. But havana fit is very similar to contemporary. The slim SM will be a little bit slimmer though not insanely so. A havana 38s fit me very well, so I got a contemporary 38s and then asked for slim pants and SM swapped them out and it fit well off the rack.

Interesting... bought my first SM suit and they did not have 44R in slim so i just did pants and jacket in contemporary to have the same "style"

Went to my tailor and he agreed that fit was nice even at contemporary style... not baggy and just right to keep the professional look, so just did the hem and sleeves

Does the store have more inventory? Trying to find a grey wool pant but the website inventory is non-existent.

Nah man, I learned that lesson earlier this summer. Popular colors sell out insanely fast and you only get lucky if someone returns something. If you want summer weight grey pants you're gonna have to buy em as soon as they show up next year.

It is frustrating though because if you're just an average consumer not reading this forum or obsessively checking the new arrivals section (and the regular trousers section in case they start out there to begin with) you could easily miss out on things you want and feel like you have to move on to another brand that makes more inventory. I get why they do it, but it is wild to see how quickly some things sell out.

Has anybody had issues with SM's stored customer info overriding Paypal's "ship to" address? That's like the third time it's happened for me.
Time to see if I can get a reply from CS lol

I contracted them about few pieces that are unavailable for like 8 months now. They said they will restock in fall/winter but they don’t know when

Here is the slim fit neopolitan in a 38r and SS Havana, both untailored and button closed for comparative purposes. Hope these help.

Burgundy is SS and the brown windowpane is S&M

Did the pieces you were looking for happen to be fall/winter or more perennial-type pieces/fabrics?

Does SM run the free full canvas MTO promotion with any kind of regularity? Have you long-timers come to expect it at certain times of the year?

They generally run a discounted full canvas upgrade several times a year, but I don't remember if they do the free canvas much.

I guess I need to pay more attention to the website also. Been trying to find a good grey wool pant for a while, without going too crazy up in price.

Thinking of buying some lightweight Oxford shirts and worried about shrinkage. Will be washing in cold water and hang drying. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
