Hi, can somebody help me out with sportcoat sizing? I'm measuring my chest at 36.25" body measurement. My Spier shirt size is a slim 15.5 34 and trousers are slim 31 which I have taken in a bit at the waist. I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs.

The last suit/sportcoat I bought was a 38R but I was about 25 lbs heavier then. I'm thinking about ordering the slim 36R.

I'm 5'10" and 150. I would echo clee that it's a matter of preference. 36R slim is a bit skinny around the waist for me and I would like some more room in the chest. I think the contemporary trousers are a better look on most people so I would push you towards 36R contemp unless you really know the slim looks works for you.

Edit: realized you were only looking at sportcoats so ignore pants comment

Thanks, I've tried the contemporary trousers in the past but always preferred the slim cut. I'll keep an open mind about the jacket though.

Wow it’s crazy how much dimensions matter, I’m 5’10 170 lb and 40R slim but 38R cont fits a TINY bit too small haha

To the 5'9" @ 150 above ~ you could try ordering both a slim and contemporary in 36R and returning one.

Summer clearance is up: SC and suits 20% off

Had to re add stuff on my cart cause it didn’t go through the first time. Anyways, good luck on the hunt!

Would this DB Charcoal jacket (in Super 120's) from Guabello work as a separate?
Scored in my size with plans on wearing it as a suit set very often this next season.:slayer:

I'd say no. A smooth fine fabric in grey with flap pockets is as suit-y as it gets. If you want to get a grey SC go for a "rough" patterned fabric with patch pockets. It'll make an excellent suit, though. Wish it featured high rise trousers. I'd get it instantly.

I am 5’9” 135lbs & 36” chest. I wear a 14.5x33 Slim and a 36R Slim & 30 Slim trousers. I would say go for the Contemporary if you need a bit more room and waist isn’t as prominent

Just received the Drago green hopsack MTM sportcoat. The fabric seems to change color depending on light. Very interesting. Looks green outdoors, but more gray inside.

Also, I selected the "slim" fit pattern. I guess the slim fit has higher armholes than the contemporary (which fits me fine). Unfortunately, the armholes are too high to the point of being uncomfortable in the armpit area. Luckily I have a very good tailor who says he can ease the armholes a bit. Hopefully it should turn out fine. Really like the fabric.

Just received this today. Obviously, it needs to go to Nick for some alterations, but I'm really happy with it.
