Anyone have experience with S&M’s parkas and, say, ones from Canada Goose or North Face? How would you compare them in terms of heat and material quality? S&M’s certainly looks nicer!

The armhole of the Slim fit needs to be 2cm higher. Then all the issues about large upper arms would be gone and I don't have to alter every SM jacket that comes my way. The Contemp should be kept the same to cater for guys with huge torso and belly.

I've actually been buying other recently massively discounted brands more than SM due to this cut issue. Less alterations, cheaper, cleaner.

cool story bro

Grabbed a pair of the Rust donegal trousers. Not looking forward to staring at them for weeks as I wait for S&M to open back up.

Great deal on the MTO. Would order a pair of light grey flannel trousers if they had some options that weren't $4-500CAD.

Here’s some pics of new items. Taupe knit polo and donegal polo coat.

I’m a 40R contemporary jacket and for sizing I went with a large on the knit polo. The sizing feels good and the collar is nice, It looks great with and without a jacket. I’d prefer if It was a little heavier but not a deal breaker.

for the polo coat I went with a 42 and the pics are both layered over a sportcoat. I’m certainly happy with the decision to size up.

how is the upsize in the polocoat if you wear it just over a sweater and no sportcoat? Do you still recommend sizing up? I am also a 40r contemp.

Wow, like $365 CAD for MTO on this one right now. Looks like I have my first black friday temptation.

It's a great fit either way, I don't find it too big even with just a shirt on. I do prefer a bit more room than some guys. I f you like a trim fit stick to a 40, otherwise jump to a 42

Please tell me what brands. I can’t get good fitting suits because my arms are too big. So many have shoulder divots and sleeves that fit like they were painted on

Easy. You just need to get a size up in SM Contemporary. No need for even bespoke.

thanks for the advice. I like a bit of room but I am afraid that the shoulder measurements would be off when I size up... Not sure what to do hehe

Hi guys, just a quick hint for those, who struggle to get the right sizing for Polo coat. I was also hesitating whether to pick up just one piece or to take two sizes and compare. Luckily I did take 2 different sizes. For reference my body measurements (in cm): height 178, shoulders 47+, chest 105, waist around 93 and weight around 80 kg. Worth mentioning, I rather prefer loose style, hence in S&M, I do wear L in sweaters/cardigans (no chance so far to touch new chunky one), shirts in 16 contp. and most importantly SC and suits preferably in 42 (fit is not always great, but what can I do expect finding a good tailor:)).
NOW, speaking of PoloCoat, I took 42 and 44. I was expecting, the 42 would meet my criteria in terms of fitting over a SC or a chunky sweater. Well (again speaking from my personal perspective), I do prefer the fit of 44. 42 is snugger, still one would say acceptable, but surprisingly 44 does not represent anyhow a huge difference, at least in my eyes. For better imagination, I did few fast pics, to help You fellas to decide eventually (I unfortunately will need to ship the smaller coat back to Canada from Europe, which is a pain because of the higher costs, but was worth now).

44 over chunky sweater (i did not try 42 over it, as I was quite sure how it would feel)

I agree, the 44 looks better on you with or without a sport coat.
In the 42 with a SC, almost looks like your forcing it on, but in the 44 with a SC it looks much better draped.
