Seems like they put up separate sizing guide for the cardigan now. https://www.spierandmackay.com/fit-guide/chunky-cardigans-size-chartAnxious to hear about sizing. Can't decide between XXL and XL
They are True to Size.. I'm a 40 and picked up M.. perfect fit..and it has some give..Seems like they put up separate sizing guide for the cardigan now. https://www.spierandmackay.com/fit-guide/chunky-cardigans-size-chart
Seems to suggest stay true to size.
If talking strictly SCs and jackets, S&M has it on lockdown, and no one else I've found comes close to the fit, fabric selection, drape, and value. That's like buying a mechanical watch solely for the marketed "history" of the brand. I also don't buy my clothes only to stare at them and wonder how rigorous that mythical old Italian master tailor with trembling hands (or a young Asian immigrant getting paid minimum wage in a European city) was putting the extra details into the collar. Those who have shopped enough of the more famed Italian brands inc Rubinacci, Isaia, etc also know firsthand the ****** quality of the construction compared to most SM pieces that are durable as hell. Buying one of those means spending half an hour getting rid of the loose / protruding threads and redoing the buttons as they are usually already falling apart.
If you have a fit body going MTO with SM and modding everything down to the millimeters and adding personal tweaks would only cost you $500 full canvas and you'll achieve the same look as going bespoke. Bespoke is only for those born with unfortunate body or those who ate too much.

The Quality.. completely impressed..I went to buy maybe one and ended up with three. When you see and feel them in person...the texture what a difference it made.
Pictures please.Wanted to add something, the chunky shawl cardigan, the weight, it has heft, just weighed it in at 2.5lbs
What's the texture like? Quite soft I imagine with merino. What about the warmth? Probably lose some warmth with no lambswool or cashmere.Wanted to add something, the chunky shawl cardigan, the weight, it has heft, just weighed it in at 2.5lbs
Good to hear. I am a 40 too but worry about sleeve length on the chunk. I wear 35/36 sleeve length in dress shirts. They are True to Size.. I'm a 40 and picked up M.. perfect fit..and it has some give..

Sleeves fine, no issues.... I'm a 40S..Good to hear. I am a 40 too but worry about sleeve length on the chunk. I wear 35/36 sleeve length in dress shirts.
How is the sleeve length for you?
I can wear 40L so I need more sleeve. Is there enough for your to double back the cuff? I can't stand sweaters with shorty sleeves.Sleeves fine, no issues.... I'm a 40S..
The knit and material seemed to allow for some give and take.
Texture..soft yes.. it was really like wearing a pillow.. probably the best comparison. The synthetic fibers like was North Face Campshire Hoody heat me up, but this one seemed to regulate..What's the texture like? Quite soft I imagine with merino. What about the warmth?
