Can anyone talk to me about the shoulder padding (or lack thereof) on the sportcoats?

I know that the sportcoats say that there is no padding in the shoulder. However, the SuitSupply Havana says the same thing but when I tried it on I felt something in the shoulders (perhaps that was the wadding/roping in the sleevehead, or canvassing in the shoulder?) and I thought that the Havana looked great on me.

In any event, if there is truly nothing in the S&M sportcoats' shoulders then I probably will pass, as I've tried on totally unconstructed uncanvassed unpadded jackets and I found them very much not flattering (I know the sportcoats are canvassed) - but if there is something in the shoulders then I'll pick a sportcoat up.

Thanks

There's canvas in the shoulder, it's not totally unstructured.

So I am tempted by the Natural Linen or Light Brown Linen SC... I remember people saying that these fit small or different than the normal SC. Should you stick with normal chest size? How are 100% linen SC's compared to say a 50/50 wool linen blend?
Also, of the two colours, which would be more versatile?

The Spier shoulders feel like the Havana’s, with only the chest canvassing wrapping over the top to give structure.

Keep in mind that the washed cotton sport coats are unstructured, so they have no canvassing to give that shape.

Well, you guys have convinced me, I'll pick up a sport coat.

Now the question is...seeing as I already have a blue hopsack blazer...is it redundant to buy that beautiful dark navy linen blazer...?

My mind is telling me yes but my heart is saying buy

Not sure where you live, but if you are about to hit fall, I think something in tweed would be better!

On the other hand, now is the sensible time to buy linen—when the price drops with the temperature.

Definitely a viable position. I prefer to shop based on what I'm going to be able to wear right away vs. shopping based on sales, though. I don't have the patience to buy something and wait 6 months before it's time to wear it. Don't even get me started on preorders that won't be delivered for months and months haha.
