Another SM banger, straight out the UPS box. Zignone blue check sportcoat. Paired here with SM light gray trousers that need tailoring. Attempted to do pattern on pattern with shirt and sportcoat. Switched from 38R to 38L on my last three sportcoats and glad I made the change.
Looks incredible! I imagine the sleeves will need adjusting, given that you used to take a reg? May I ask your height and sleeve length?

Jesus. It looks like a million bucks on you.

Many thanks, good sirs. Took some time and experimenting to dial in my fit and get the proportions right. With sportcoats, both Neo and Non-neo, 38L contemporary is the sweet spot, as it provides enough drape and length. I noticed the Neo 38R, specifically in the way the quarters are cut, doesn't really clear the crotch well (it accentuates the hips where the 38R splays open) and bifurcates the top and bottom blocks taking away the singularity of a cohesive visual line from top to bottom when wearing sportcoat and trousers. It also helps that I found my SM trouser sweet spot as well: 32 waist in contemporary. For reference, I'm 6ft. even and wear a 35 sleeve length in shirts.
