I've found now that I prefer cotton-linen blends vs 100% linen now. I like the structure the cotton provides.

Agreed on the structure -- I recently tried on a tie with a pure linen shirt and it didn't feel like a good match (for me, anyway)

For what it's worth, given the sweltering heat where I am, I've transitioned almost exclusively to linen and linen-cotton blends. My cotton shirts are gathering dust lol

Finally got my delivery and the suit I was most excited about has a bad lapel (photo right). The fold goes well below the button hole and seems to be firmly ingrained in that position. First saw it and had to double check that it wasn't a 32roll.

Now out of stock in my size. Doesn't look good buttoned or unbuttoned. Kind of surprised something like this got through QC but I guess with a quick glance over it could be missed.

Thoughts? Return it? @spiermackay

Flip the collar and lapel, and lay it flat on your ironing board. Grab a clean scrap piece of fabric to put between the suit and iron. Press the lapel incrementally along the length, just pass the button in question. Press, lift and shift down, press, repeat. When you put the jacket back on, it should fall naturally when buttoned.

+1 to more cotton linen selections, always
My seersucker arrived today as well and the trousers weren't pressed with a crease either, and I agree it feels slimmer in the waist, and perhaps a bit shorter too? Suspect the former is a property of the cloth. Latter may just be copy variation?

I am quite happy with the suit, it's the full canvas neapolitan so it doesn't have any shoulder padding.

Looks great! weird that they didn't press a crease in the trousers. UPS has told me mine was arriving for the last two days now but hasn't shown up. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

okay, any roping in the suit?

Here's the sage cotton linen in my usual 38s contemporary. I know i'm standing a bit askew, but I need to know if the problems in the back can be fixed. My tailor's closed thanks to the pandemic and I don't want to keep it past the return period if the fabric bunching is indeed irreparable.

Yea I think SM suits can do a drop 5 instead of 6. That'd be perfect with the current cut. The real complain for me would be the change to the current cut for the polo shirts. XS is now the same as a non-slim Uniqlo S. 1 size too large, can't buy any now.

Good points. We'll look into that. The the way it's set up now is much more secure as it goes directly to the payment processor page (the company who handles payments for us), rather than payment through our server. It's an added step of security and actually cuts down CC fraud.

thats great. i hope the new site is more secure, i know a lot of people got cc fraud with alledgedly the old spier website I purchased a lot and was vigilent and never had an issue.... today though i got hit with an email from my bank and indeed there was fraudulent activity for around 1200$. thank god they caught it in time. I did use that cc on the old spier website around a month or two ago but i also used it elsewhere so not pointing fingers! CC fraud sucks so more steps to avoid it are great! Does spier pay fees to paypal if people use that method? I guess its an added security and ill use it in the future !

Anyone successfully let out the waist of a Spier Sport Coat? Is there enough fabric on the Neo coats?

The latest few 44's I have gotten could stand for a little more room in the waist and there doesn't seem to be a lot of extra fabric at the side or back seams.

How much are you needing? My Olive linen has nearly 1.5" on the back and about 1/2" on the sides.

I had to hoard the old ones since I have the same exact problem. 5'7" 125 Lb. The new XS cut is too fat for me. lol
