Spiers way of protesting tariffsHmmm, so no Presidents’ Day sale?
No, not when it comes to this presidentHmmm, so no Presidents’ Day sale?
Deets on the jeans?Just received the Abraham Moon Green-Gray Check, I know some people on here have been asking about it. First of all, I'd definitely call it green, not as gray/washed out as some photos suggest.
But I was mostly surprised to find that this is the Neo 3 cut. The listing on the website doesn't seem to reflect this - even the size guide takes you to the measurements for the regular Neo 2. Back in October, Spier even posted in this thread saying there wouldn't be any OTR Neo 3s this season, so it's definitely a bit confusing.
Unlike the Neo 3s from last season, these shoulders don't seem roped to me (although I'm no expert, maybe they are and it's just very subtle?), but the lower gorge and extended shoulders are definitely noticeable.
I have to say, I wasn't a huge fan of the Neo 3 when it first came out, always figured I'd stick with the Neo 2, but I've fully changed my mind. Very much dig the look, the balance of the lapel width / gorge height is great. The website listing issues at Spier can be annoying, but this was a very pleasant surprise.

I have this in MTO and I love it is a beautiful cloth. I added some roping to the shoulders. 😉Just received the Abraham Moon Green-Gray Check, I know some people on here have been asking about it. First of all, I'd definitely call it green, not as gray/washed out as some photos suggest.

Does anybody know if there is a specific threat to buy/sell garments from Spier & Mackay?
No threat but there is a threadDoes anybody know if there is a specific threat to buy/sell garments from Spier & Mackay?
Do you machine dry or hang dry?About to order some cotton chinos- should I add a little to the inseam, to allow for shrinkage?
Definitely S&M. The alterations you're mentioning are very basic and shuldn't affect your decision, IMO. the S&M will be in style forever, but the SS tux will easily be identified from the era of short coats and slim pants.Hi gents. Looking for some advice for my first tux. After years of renting for various events, I finally figured the investment was worth it. Choosing between the S&M Barathea Black tux and the SuitSupply tux package -- pics below.
S&M seems to be a more classic cut -- wider grosgrain lapels, longer coat, roped shoulder -- and the fabric seems to be more substantial and "blacker" (if that makes sense). Obviously some alterations needed (i.e. trousers hemmed and seat adjusted, jacket sleeves shortened, etc)
SuitSupply is more modern by contrast -- more natural shoulder, slimmer all around -- I'm athletic and had to size up to a 36 trouser to have any semblance of drape. Also the trousers are flat front compared to the singled pleated S&M trousers. So a bit less comfortable. Overall feels like fewer alterations are needed, save finishing the trousers.
Pics attached (first suit is SM, second is SuSu). Would love any advice on what to hang on to. Thanks a ton!
Personally I like the first one more but might just be hoe you are wearing the whole thing. Kudos to you for buying a tux though, renting is such a robbery.Hi gents.
