Looking for a little help.

1. Does anyone have pictures of either of these e Thomas hop sacks in the wild / up close?

2. Can the wool/cashmere 270gram be worn most of the year in temperate coastal California (60-low 80s Fahrenheit)?

3. Anyone know how these fabrics compare to the minnis mock Leno?

Thanks for your response. I was unaware that each garment being different with Spier . I guess I just got lucky with the nicer emerald label barathea tux being the one that is more generous AND had a slightly longer jacket. That 3/4 to 1 inch of additional length in the jacket really made a whole lot of difference in making the piece look more mature and less trendy. I do hope the navy hopsack blazer I ordered is the same .

I guess it's possible that they're different cuts, but if so it's not related to the the emerald label. They just have different cuts for the jackets (Neo1/2/3, Classic, English are ones I think I've seen) and they are sometimes more generous or longer/shorter. The measurements should be posted in the size guide though and theoretically the tolerance is 0.5 inch or less.

Going into my second Winter with this, and I can't rave about it enough. Quality of the wool-cashmere blend is top notch, and it's a real workhorse jacket. It was 17 degrees for the dog walk this morning, and this thing was snug and toasty.

How’s the sizing of this? Do you recommend sizing up or true to size?
I'm a 44L/34 Waist. I stuck with a 44, and it fits perfectly. Just enough room for a bulky sweater underneath should I choose. Not sure if sizing up to a 46 would have worked for me.

Ehhhh 80s would be dodgy, I think. Anytime else I think you'd be fine. The ET is far plusher than the Minnis. Minnis is cool and crisp, the ET is decadent.

Speaking of, depending on sizing, I have a NWOT 42L (contemporary) I've been dithering on selling. Feel free to DM if that's of interest

I found some pics of both on the forum searching "e Thomas wool cashmere" I believe. I just ordered the WC and have the mock leno (recent pic in natalino thread).

Question for those who’ve ordered a sport coat or suit in Dino Filarte cloth.

What did you think of it? Is it noticeably different from the Italian and English fabrics many of us are accustomed to? Or is it all in the mind, a case of cloth snobbery?

Thanks for the help. I'm a bit smaller at a 38s contemporary.

I'm far from an expert and am usually searching for budget friendly options vs luxury since I don't wear suits or sportcoats often, but I found it to be just fine. I never really noticed any difference in just the regular wool suits. Might be more noticeable in special types.

Cool.

Sooo cloth snobbery eh?

I still remember the hilarious Simonnot Godard polyester shirting cloth debacle involving Mafoofan and a few others here. Search it up. Definitely worth a chuckle or two. 🤣🤣🤣

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
