@SpierTeam, would you be willing to share when the Camel Polo Coat will be available? I bought the Heathered Grey one, but would be happy to switch for the Camel one if it is ready soon!

I remember us discussing this fabric last winter asking if they can bring it to RTW, and I am very glad they did.

This is live. I am almost ready to pull the trigger on this unnecessary and redundant, but beautiful piece of art of a purchase. However, the unfinished sleeves feature is really taking a lot of wind out of my sails. The extra work of going to a local tailor and getting my wallet even more lighter seems like a real extra hurdle. It's annoying enough to get trousers hemmed, but a RTW jacket? Kind of takes it more like NQRTW. Is this a new thing? @SpierTeam can you please advise? Otherwise you would have taken my money!

It's an interesting decision for sure. There aren't any long sizing options in this run so maybe the unfinished sleeve is the compromise that caters to everybody (without thrilling anybody). I went ahead and ordered. Fully expecting to fall in love in person. (Also this was my only plan B for a new winter weight jacket after sitting out the dark navy serge, and Spier only stocks exactly 3 of anything in my size, so darned if I'm missing out!)

I've been hounding Rick to bring this jacket for two years now. He was hesitant at the beginning, but warmed up to the idea last year. Now that it had finally arrived, I'm being hesitant. The reason being the purple-ish undertone. Does it lean purple to anyone else? It's more apparent on The Anthology's IG if you zoom in on the pics.

First of, welcome back!
I don’t think there’s purple under tone. I think on Instagram, the jacket is picking up some of the background color, as there’s a subtle variation between the right and left side of photo, which makes the jacket more interesting to my eyes.
Few years ago, I decided to update my whole wardrobe, and this is certainly a piece that will stand out
I feared spier will not stock my size based on the last summer spence bryson experience and yes my size isn’t there. I hope one day they have a preorder program to special order a jacket that they are going to bring to RTW in an odd size at a RTW price not MTO price

My favorite spier jacket had that, I shopped around, went to different tailors some that even do full bespoke, quoted 200$ to finish the sleeves with functional buttons. So I decided to just get them sewn on to a non functional one, I understand your concern. I paid I think 20 our less

There’s long sizes. I don’t think that’s the reason. They used to call this their emerald line, higher end cloth, ability to make functional sleeves, mileanses button etc. making this a rather luxury item compared to their other offerings

Thanks mate, appreciate it. The left and right pic are not the same fabric. You can see that they're two different fabrics on The Merchant Fox's website. One is the char navy and the other is a plain navy. If you zoom in on the char navy, it shows some purple in the herringbone pattern. At least on my screen. See the right hand jacket below.

A couple of years ago, Spier offered an E. Thomas hopsack jacket which featured a purple undertone. I had issues pairing it because of this and sold it. Hence my hesitation.

Yes I know 2 different jacket, the front one one the first image is the tweed one of interest. I meant on the second photo, when I zoomed in, I see variation in color from the left to the right side of the image that I thought from the jacket picking up background color, I might be wrong, but this is what I see, just grey / lighter navy/blue undertone on the right of the screen. This reminds me of a instagram or a facebook photo that went viral years ago because people were seeing different colors lol

Oh, got it. I see that too, now 😂 hopefully we'll see real life pics soon (before my size runs out) and we'll better be able to pass judgement.
