Would also appreciate if they offered polos that fits the bigger guys (equivalent to the 17 and 17 1/2 shirts in Contemporary). Maybe in a couple of years when they have a wider clientele base, who knows!

    We have
We have a new group of polos just in finishing at the moment. A revised Shirt Collar and and a new button down collar version. Shirt collar we are now using non-woven interlining in the the collar to give it more support, so it stands up great. We dissected a really nice Cuccinelli polo with the same collar and discovered this was the trick.

Colours are Black, Navy, Heather Gray, White, Crimson Red, Royal Blue, and Forest Green.

Received a few different items from S&M today in the mail.

First up is the blue wool/linen check suit. I really like everything about this suit. It's a great shade of blue with a nice, subtle pattern. The fabric is perfect and light in weight for summer with a nice drape without it being too light and thin, and the fit (38 slim for me) is spot on. I love the fact that the S&M suits are slightly longer in length than my regular SuSu suits which are about 1/2"-1" shorter in overall length than I would prefer. Overall, this is a great suit at an amazing price. Below is a quick picture that I snapped from my iPhone. I feel like this is a pretty good representation of the color (maybe not quite as dark as the pic but close).

I also received white and blue summer oxfords. These, like all of my other slim S&M dress shirts, fit me almost perfectly. These are super soft and lighter in weight to make them perfect for the spring and summer. Awesome oxfords! I have dress shirts from Ledbury to Kamakura (which I really like) to Brooks Brothers and others, and the S&M dress shirts are right there with Kamakura (perhaps even better) as my favorite from an overall quality, fit, and cost standpoint.

Finally, I received a white cotton polo with the shirt collar. The medium is a great fit, nice and snug without being too tight, and the material looks very good especially for the price. Another homerun, and I'll be purchasing more of these.

Very cool! Grabbing a Green for sure.

Any prototype pics of the redesigned collars?

Fingers crossed for a substantial collar on the button down polo like this.

Not that big. Gotta remember, most of of our customers are not SF guys. Venturing too far out of most peoples comfort zone results in dead stock. A button down on a polo is a stretch for most to begin with....

This looks oversized to me. I'd rather see something like below - spread collar, french placket. The simpler, the better.

Very nice -- I would also love long-sleeve polo shirts, but I guess it isn't a popular option.

Haha good point. Sometimes I forget about the world outside of SF.

That's really nice, I do think a little more spread on the normal ones would be cool too.

Sure thing. I think it'll work perfectly as a stand alone sportcoat as well. I really like it.

I see the new chinos are up for preorder! Killer color choices and the new details look awesome.

Wondering if the new size chart will be up soon, can't wait to place my order.

Hey Rick, are the khakis similar in cut to the contemp trousers? The sizing chart only covers the slim fit khakis, not the contemporary.

Chart was supposed to go up today. I'll shoot an email to our web developer, he has to update it.

Similar. Slightly bit more room in the thigh as the cotton doesn't have as much flex as wool. But you should be safe ordering your same size as you do the wool trousers.

    Sounds good.

I measured myself today and my waist is 35" (pants that measure 34" fit well though), hips 39", and thighs 24"

The slim flannels in 32 fit me good in the waist and seat but the thighs need room. Learning now that these are split waist do you think I should maybe go 33 slim chino and take in the waist if needed, or maybe go a 32 contemp chino (the worry there being too much room in the hip, giving sag ass).

Our rule for a comfortable fit is you need about 1.5"-2" extra fabric around your hips and 3" around your thighs. You would need about a 27" at the thigh for comfort. That said, if the 32 slim trouser was getting snug, I would go for the 32 contemporary. The hip of the 32 contemporary and 33 Slim are the same, but you will have 1/2" more leg room at the thigh. BUT the entire leg of the contemporary is fuller, but that can be tapered down. The outseam is busted and not felled, so easy to taper.

Received the summer oxford shirt today.

I must say I like it a lot, but it is not exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting it would be more crisp and light. The fabric is indeed light, but smooth to touch and a bit shiny. This is probably because I have a summer oxford from Gitman Brothers, though.

New chinos look promising. Hopefully the madras chambray shirts will come up sooner or later so I can make the next order.

How do we know if the size chart for the Khakis has been updated or not?

It's not. The slim chart is good. The contemporary khaki, just add an inch to the hip and thigh and 1/2" to the knee and hem opening.

Hey Rick - haven't shopped S&M or lurked the forums in about a year now, but glad to see a revision of the khakis/chinos getting underway. Looking forward to the size chart and trying a pair of the new cut given the previous ones were all too skinny for my legs. Potentially pick up a couple polos/summer oxfords as well. Wearing last years madras shirts as we speak - they are my favorite.

    Sending the best to everyone...
