That was my thought as well. I do like a little more room in my sweaters. For instance I am a 36” chest and got the small. Most of my other sweaters are small’s as well. Spier’s seems longer than a couple of mine from other brands, however, but oh well. I think folding it up would be fine. Thanks for input my friend!
Was just going to say that would work if you want to shorten length.

Anyone wearing a long jacket? I bought a suit for my brother in a 40L but the sleeves are too short for him. I would like to know how much the jacket sleeves can be lengthened by.
I'm really jealous of all of the MTO pics!

What's the status on their MTO factory at the moment? Can we expect massive delays still, or is it largely back to normal operation?

My personal preference is that I am against heavy wool safari jackets. I feel like the jackets itself should be reserved for breathable fabric like linen. To me it's the same as asking for a linen double-breasted coat.
Having personal preferences like this is of course perfectly fine, but I think the reasons you feel this way could make for an interesting discussion.

I think there are some obvious differences between a wool safari and a linen DB coat. A DB coat is specifically designed to keep you warm with multiple layers of fabric and longer length. There's nothing inherent in a safari jackets design that makes it a warm weather jacket. It's just a more elegant and sartiorial type of field jacket. Surely you wouldn't have a problem with a wool field jacket? I actually think the safari jackets design is better suited for heavier and sturdier fabrics than very light ones like linen. A heavier jacket makes all the pockets a lot more practical and usable without ruining the shape of the whole jacket.

I feel like viewing a safari jacket exclusively as a warm weather item is a bit like turning your nose up at flight jackets in anything but heavy-duty leather. They're both practical well beyond their original military purpose.

I think your fit is perfect if not near perfect.

How long did it take you to perfect your OTR fit with Spier?
Thanks. Well, I will say second try. The first suit I got from S&M, although it was a 44L, was a bit narrow in the shoulders because of the way they did the seams but Rick confirmed that the length was fine. Then my second order included a pir of SC's and I knew the size was correct and with the modifications they did after to the Neapolitan cut, were going to work great and then I got this suit. :D

What do you all think about overshirts?
I've really come to like them and have several from other makers. Can function sort of like a super casual sport coat. I'd like to see SM come out with some.
