How’s the weight on that thing? Snagged it today, can’t wait to get it.

Definitely heavy and warm, 500gsm and fully lined (so, the warmth and weight of most overcoats). And HT is basically bulletproof, so my grandkids will probably fight over it (and I don’t even have kids yet)

Yeah. The fabric is spectacular. A nice, rich brown with blue and black tones that will make it pair well with a variety of colours - flannels and the covert twill trousers, in particular. I personally think it’s the winner of the bunch.

I like it too. I live in the coastal South (US), and it isn't cold for very long here, so I was a little apprehensive buying a tweed like this. However, I think the weight is just fine to get some good use out of it from late fall through winter. It was the only sport coat of that initial drop that really appealed to me. The oatmeal was nice, but not really my thing. That blue Donegal is nice, though.

I'm now trying to think about what ties and pocket squares I have that would pair with the gun check. I'll probably have to make a few purchases, which is fine, since I only have a couple of wool or wool/silk "winter" ties.

This jacket is incredible. I mean, Harris Tweed is always incredible, but this is something else. Great to see that HT tag in an S&M garment
That looks fantastic. I feel like have to hold off on that one cause I have a grey Houndstooth Harris tweed that is pretty much the same color, just different pattern. Shirt in the photo is a custom Spier shirt though with my preferred flap pocket.

Good to know that it is fully lined. The site states 1/4 lined.

Maybe this has been asked before but @spiermackay , wondering if the Mto program will include mostly staples or have some of these other, more interesting fabrics. Specifically I’m wondering about the covert twills for trousers atm. Want them but have another couple purchases I gotta make and I doubt they’ll stay in stock for long. Thinking if they’d be available for mto I could wait and do that later.

I have a hunch that interesting fabrics will be on there.

When I hopped onto the link that was not public, months ago there was a lot of fresco, and I also found the old copper-linen fabric there as well.

Good reminder btw, it comes out tomorrow :bounce2:

Need to nip the waist, among other things. It’s slightly large, but the shoulders fit me much better than the next size down. View attachment 1242134 View attachment 1242135

Woooow, really making me reconsider my Harris Tweed choice with the green.

What's the best trousers to wear with this jacket?

The Harris Tweed Herringbone made me faintly remember something - did Rick say a lighter brown herringbone was coming this fall? Lighter than the dark brown from last F/W?
