Very representative of Rick and S&M's customer service in general.

On a side note (since you are not located anywhere near Toronto) - when you order a MTM suit, do you choose a fabric that's used by S&M for their RTW suits? Or you special request a particular fabric via email and they see what they can find in their available swatch books? If I remember correctly, your first suit was commissioned in brown linen. Was it the one S&M offered their RTW suits in?

    Hey Rick,

Will you make a suit if we provide the fabric? If so, what's the price?

Just ordered three new shirts: light blue
    gresham stripe
, navy blue gresham stripe, and
    green tottenham bengal stripe
. All wide spread collars. I already own the purple t
    ottenham bengal stripe
. All I need now is a burgundy stripe and I'm all set on bengals. I'd love to see some wider butcher striped shirts.

Any color will do, but royal or light blue would be outstanding.

    @shawnbc

I bought the brown linen suit RTW (the fit was alright, but I generally wear it open...not that anyone in real life would notice). I then commissioned a camel flannel jacket and they did a stupendous job based just on pictures of the brown suit. Fit pictures are floating around this thread somewhere. They also sent me some swatches, after which I commissioned the gray flannel PoW. They unfortunately couldn't send fresco swatches, but I was familiar enough with the various blue frescos that it wasn't a huge issue.

Anyway, that was my process. It's one I recommend, though only if the base pattern fits you well (this is true for all online MTM).

I think, however, that SM goes a bit beyond modifying a base pattern. From what I understand, they've created my own pattern based on the original pattern. Thus I can do a lot that one normally can't do with MTM (like different lapel shapes and styles).

    I've had a similar experience.
I was waiting for a new MTM shirt to come in. There was a limited time discount offer and I was willing to pay at that time to take advantage of the offer (and delay the production).
Rick declined and I paid later after receiving the shirt (and he honored the discount as promised).

    Hello Gentlemen,

Sorry for the short notice, but we just pulled this together last week. We're going to be having our Grand Opening for our Downtown Toronto shop this Thursday (Sept. 22/16) from 5-9 pm. Yes, yes we know, we've been open for a few months now, but we never had the opportunity to kick it off properly.

We'll be having some food, drinks a sneak peak at the new items coming from the JV Zegna factory and small gift bags. All our staff will be attending, so you can meet the team and we are open to answer any questions and engage in some great conversation.

If you're interested in attending, please RSVP to events@spierandmackay.com. As it is a private event, we do require you to be added to our guest list prior to the event. You can bring up to two guests.

Come for a drink, say Hi, see some fantastic MTM and OTR pieces from our new factory - the quality is spectacular and check out the new shop!

    Cheers,
    Rick

Update: Fault is mine, bank had a hold on card. Hey Rick, I'm having an incredibly hard time ordering online (or by any means, really). Whenever I attempt to place an order I'm greeted by the following: [IMG] Just to make sure I'm not crazy, I've done the following: -Tried Chrome and Firefox -Tried 3 different credit cards -Verified my address -Tried different PCs At this point I have to assume there is something wrong with your shopping card back-end? More annoyingly, my cart will time out and wipe after a short while. So whenever I try this again I have to re-create all my MTM shirts (since you can't add pre-saved designed directly to your cart), re-save them, add all my other items, etc. I tried calling your telephone number a few times during Eastern Time business hours, but was greeted by a friendly auto-response saying nobody was available. I also tried emailing support, where I did get a friendly response. Unfortunately responses here take 24-48hrs, so troubleshooting this problem is going to take a while... Is there something I am missing, or anything else I can do? I am desperately trying to seing you money, but it's turning out to be very difficult. Michael

We've been getting orders regularly all day, including MTM shirts. You can PM me your order details and we can create an order manually and send you a payment request via paypal. You can pay that with any major credit card. Currently the site only accepts Visa or Mastercard.

I had the same issue placing an order over the weekend. It's your credit card placing a fraud hold on your card. Mine was due to buying three suits in the middle of the night from Canada. Apparently it was enough to flag my card and it took three calls to my credit card and a half hour to straighten it out.

I was thinking earlier today - I would love a long sleeve version of the polos.

They're my go to for casual wear outside of the oxfords, and I'd love to be able to wear them into Fall/Winter.

Is be down for a pocket. In terms of a long sleeve version i'd prefer a less textured fabric though. The pique knit is good for the short sleeve and summer, though.

    I agree.

I wanted to add that re: material to my original post but I'm not too knowledgeable on the topic. I defer to you guys and Rick in that department.

Had an issue with the website late Sunday night as I tried to place a last minute order. Is 20% back in future credits still being offered?

thanks and no worries if not!
