Appreciate the honesty. I'm probably gonna give it a try anyway. Thoughts on how to style the navy guncheck? Almost added it to my order today but I haven't seen too many of these and idk why it feels a little difficult to wear vs the brown one.

Medium or light gray trousers. Solid colour shirt. White or pale blue. Really sharp look. Think of it as an alternative to a navy blazer.

Does the navy guncheck have black checks or brown? If they are brown then I'd pair it with the usual suspects that go with a navy blazer, that is trousers in shades of grey and brown, or even the right green.

If the checks are black, then I have the same issue pairing it with trousers as I would with the blackwatch jacket. I think it's a cool looking jacket but I'm having trouble picturing it with anything other than solid navy or black trousers (which I don't own nor would plan on buying). This is the one case where I think black trousers would look good, as part of an outfit for evening occasions, with perhaps a white shirt and dark tie. I have a black Burberry tie with very small blue squares in it that I almost never wear, but would look perfect with that jacket.

Striped or solid tie? Hmm. Interesting...I don't know why I'm having such a hard time picturing this.

I think burgundy or brown solid tie would look nice. Check the product page. Basically that with grey slacks.

A rust solid would work too IMO.

Rick, any plans to offer suits with unpadded shoulders? Love that feature in some of your sportcoats.

Heh. I wish the opposite: that they'd introduce sport coats with more structure ...

    Cheers,

We've been discussing a few new suit variants and an unpadded, more casual suit being one of them.

Look forward to it. Thanks for the response. Been trying to find something with either unpadded or soft Neapolitan shoulders.

Is double breasted one of those variants?

Epaulet was previewing some oxford fabric swatches on IG. May I offer some suggestions for future colors for you to consider (keeping in mind the colors you have set to come soon), I love everything checked but I swear I would buy almost anything from the darker colors. I love your oxford fabric, it's breaking in so beautifully on my burgundy shirt at around 10 washes so far, I want to stock my wardrobe with as many of your oxfords as possible.

I would say a darker charcoal oxford, similar color to the darker polo would be high up on my wants. Maybe all these cold mornings in Calgary have my itching to break out the Fall colors.

    Top 5 wish list:
    Dark Charcoal (008908)
    Dark Olive (008913)
    Dark Burgundy (008926)
    Something like the 000085
    Dark Chamois (081303)

The dark purple on the bottom right is pretty amazing too though.

I only have 5 OCBDs, and can think of at least 3 more obvious ones that I'd add to the collection, but that is an impressive assortment above!

From a "easier to sell" point of view, I think a navy OCBD would be a logical addition to S&Ms inventory. I also like the vey last one of the first pic. What would you call that...grape?

I understand that some uni stripe OCBDs are on the way. Rick, will the cloth be available for custom?

I agree. All I wear are Oxfords and I'm patiently waiting for more colors. I'd be in for at least 4 or 5 of the ones that Burzan mentioned.

for the ocbs, we're playing it safe for the time being. As we have to commit to pretty significant quantity of cloth, as we are making this cloth ourselves, we need to stick with colours that are classic. The first group above are yarn dyed, those require a big quantity commitment on our part to delver them at our price point. If I were to pick up existing stock, we might be able to run a smaller quantity, but the price would be higher. Good example of this, is the new line of Thomas Mason we'll be rolling out later this Fall/Winter.

The second group are overdyes, which we may be able to run our stock white and they have it overdyed in seasonal colours. I have to talk to my production manager about this. But we are making progress. Baby steps.

I feel like those would be pretty hard sells but I'm not much of an ocbd person and the Epaulet look doesn't appeal much to me, so there's my bias.

Totally fair, and I would rather the pricepoint and quality be the priority and let the colors expand gradually over time.

Side note, now that I have had some time with the higher second button I am not a fan. It looks and feels like it's in a awkward spot on me compared to the normal second button. It's a non issue if I am wearing the shirt casually as it is unbuttoned but if I tuck in the shirt I like to keep the second button done up.

I totally get it, I am a huge OCBD fan and I wear them tucked in for work or untucked casually almost daily. A lot of the colors in the more saturated tones I would keep fairly casual in my rotation and I know a lot of guys here have no need for that. I am always looking to see more casual options roll through the store so I can keep throwing money their way.

Have been checking almost daily for the slim chance the linen/cotton spread collars were available in a size 15. Today BOTH the light blue striped and the white were both back in stock in a size 15. PUMPED.

Anyone have a picture of those in the wild?

Also, regarding the OCBDs, like others have said, I would buy almost any color that comes out as long as the construction and sizing are the same as the last batch that came out. Would love a navy, dark green, white/grey striped.
