I do find the armhole and bicep on the slim 15 a little large. It would be nice if those can slim down a bit.

I would like to see some pin oxford too. The one I have is indigo pin oxford and I like it a lot.

Personally, that is what draws me to S&M shirts (except for price and encouraging a canadian company); I like the larger armholes and biceps. It's fun to be able to bend my arm without fearing fabric ripping at the elbow, or bending down to tie my shoes without ripping the upper back.

Still, my Luxire shirts fits a wee bit smaller in the chest and armholes/biceps and I love them too, so I wouldn't look elsewhere if S&M decided to dial down (reasonnably) these measurements on their shirts. As long as they provide good prices, nice fabrics and beefy collars, I'll keep coming back.

You guys are the best. What colors do you have? The mauve one is the one I had my eye on initially. Do you think you could have some in 14.5 ready to drop around the same time as the summer bengals? That would be the perfect bundle for me: mauve pin oxford, green bengal and light blue bengal.

Will there be any grand opening specials for the new location?

We haven't decided yet. We're going to open with a soft opening first, to test all our new systems, etc. Grand opening would be a couple of weeks after that.

I received my two polo shirts: navy in a shirt collar (size Large) and a blue in the ribbed collar (size Large). The navy is pretty much a size larger than the blue. Fortunately for me, I was able to wash and dry the navy on high heat to have it shrink to fit, but it would've been nice if they both were the same size out of the packaging. I've noticed this on some of the OTR dress shirts (and sometimes MTM shirts). For dress shirts, I always get a 16 Slim and sometimes the shirts are too big, slightly too small or just right. For the price of the clothing, I'm willing to take the risk and the measurements can always be managed (if it's too big, I dry on high heat, otherwise I hang dry), but it would be nice to get this issue solved for the future.

15+ shirts for me and I don't find this the case at all. Certain fabrics sew a bit larger or smaller, but nothing to suggest they are a size apart.
For the most part very consistent.

We do our absolute best to keep things as consistent as possible. Different fabrics will hang/drape different and feel different even with the same specs. Our QC process for shirts is to check 50% of the production lot, most companies only check 10%. Of the shirts that are checked, if we find the lot to be greater than 3% off of our tolerance mark, the full lot will then be re-inspected and go back for a repair. So it is possible, that a few shirts that are +/- from our standard tolerance make it through to the floor. However, they should not fit like a totally different shirt or size altogether.

It's very, very rare for any company that produces any garment at volume to claim 100% size consistency all the time.

But, we can always improve. There is always room to make ourselves better.

Just for the record, the 3 polos I purchased all seem to be identical in size.

Rick, what's the difference between a soft opening and grand opening? Number of items available?

With respect to the pinpoint oxford conversation, I find the weave to be tight and not necessary cooler to wear than a normal oxford. I have 2 custom pinpoint shirts from S&M and once I have enough shirts to separate into SS vs FW, I will put the PP in the fall-winter pile.

Soft opening, we simply just open the doors and start business. Don't really make a grand announcement to the media or actively promote. Gives us time to work through our systems and identify any major issues before we make any efforts to grow our base.

We will announce the opening first to our existing base through channels like this, the other forums and through our newsletter.

My only concern size wise has been the madras post wash from last year and they were all the same size to begin, two colors shunk pretty heavily in length (Navy/Green & Red/Teal) and two shrunk in width (Aqua & Pink). Seems the fabric was running different directions between the designs so post wash they now have very different fits. This will be fixed this round for me because I now know the 15.5 Contemp (went with 16 Slim last year) is the better OTR fit for me so I won't be letting anything hit the dryer going forward.

All my polos, oxfords, and custom flannels have been spot on sizing.

Madras is such a strange animal because it's hand loomed for the most part. Different dyes will affect the yarns differently and cause shrinkage totally differently even if you start with the exact same raw yarn. We shrink tested all the madras this season independently, and did our best to adjust for each. So hopefully no major surprises.

Which is a lighter fabric, the linen or the madras?

It will be all good, the 16 Slim was a bit long on me so I let them hit the dryer. I was just shocked when the two didn't shrink at all in length and did in the width. The 15.5 Contemp fits me better so won't be hitting the dryer anyways.

On a side note, wore my four new polos four days in a row and love them all, the color choices this year are great, I am seriously considering buying the final three colors I didn't already get. Just on the fence if my spill prone, fair skinned self can make a white polo work haha.

Madras. But comparing apples to oranges. The madras is cotton in a loose pick weave, the Linen, as a fiber is more breathable even at a heavier weight.
