Any rough idea on how much? 0.25"? 0.5"?

There is no right answer and it doesn't matter. Your pants slide up and down your waist more than that as you sit and stand throughout the day anyway. The amount of perseveration that goes on over .25" on the CM side of the forum is ludicrous. My life became significantly less stressful when I stopped trying to perfect fit to the millimeter.

Gotta have the right drape man.

The hem matters too, I find anything under 8" will just bunch up around my shoes rather than drape. For very casual pants, yeah it's not a big deal.

I definitely prefer a hem of 8.25"-8.5" though, and is my only minor complaint for the contemporary fit.

I'm 15.5 Regent in Brooks Brothers, should I order 15.5 Contemporary?

I assume 15.5 but since Spier and MacKay tailored garments are known to fit rather snug, would you size up to 16?

I think you'd be ok with 15.5 Contemporary. Double check the measurements, but they should be fairly close.

Please make sure they are "right sized". The latest V3's have (in my untrained eye) flaps that are about 3/8" too big.

I agree, I know they were increased to balance the larger lapels, but I feel they're a bit too large. I've tucked mine for a jetted look, but think they'd look better and more balanced if they were slightly smaller.

I'd love to see less taper. I recently figured out how well the top block of the pants fits me (which is rare) but they get tightish around the knee. I think less taper would look better on the suits, as well. JMO

Me too! Even sized up two inches in the waist the S&M pants are too tight around the top of my calf so they don't drape well at all. I get a bunch of loose fabric around the knee.

For the S&M casual trousers, can anyone make a comparison to J.Crew's now discontinued Bowery Classic and/or Urban Slim Fit chinos? Looking to see if they are more slim or bigger. I ordered 33 contemporary fwiw.

Edit: Wondering if they are more like the urban slim fit, which I wouldn't wear a sport coat with, or the Bowery, which I would and sometimes do.
