I'd say my preferred is an 8.5" however, I do have some 8.25" and 8.0 that work well too. If it helps, I knew your measurements going in and that they were most likely trimmer than my usual but was hopeful that they would work out.

As an aside, I am still impressed with the quality of construction - especially at your price point - and am likely to try your MTM in the future.

i suppose it depends on the fit/size, but according to the website, a 33 contemporary would be 8 inch hem

At a 36" waist, I wouldn't want the hem any wider than it already is.

My issue is the calf area. When I wear dress socks it creates static and the pants cling to the sock and don't drape at all. If I wear the pants without socks? They work fine. I've tried 100% cotton, 100% wool, and a variety of blends and all of the socks have static with the pants.

A little stiff at first but really soften up quite a bit after a couple washes. Very comfortable.

Hey Rick, on the new E. Thomas aqua and brown check, how would you describe the color of the secondary light brown (not the chocolate brown) check in there? Is it a light brown/sand or is it something else, more of a gold/yellow?

I've been trying to get a handle on it across 3 different monitors/devices, but I can't 100% grasp it yet.
