It's really a matter of personal opinion. I'd wear it, but I'm sure some others on the forum would not.

Too pronounced for what? Stuff like that is all about context. Personally I just objectively don't like it, but I would like a navy chalk-windowpane that would be about as bold. This one just seems odd for some reason, but I don't see anything really wrong with it that I could put a finger on.

I'm pretty sure that's an effect of the digital photo.

I can't tell if the windowpane is a chalk stripe or a pinstripe.

Personally, I don't think I can wear a pinstripe suit, and if I don't think I can wear it, I won't wear it. I'm in the market for a windowpane suit, but I'd like the windowpane to be subtle, and I was wondering if this would fit.

It's a pinstripe windowpane. Chalkstripe is fuzzier looking. Personally, I would not consider this subtle. Maybe look for something with a very muted glen-type check and a slightly more pronounced windowpane overcheck.

If you're looking for something subtle, you may want to check out a charcoal gray (solid or glen plaid) with a medium to dark blue windowpane. Something that people won't notice until they are within conversation-range of you.
