South Bay Area tailor search

I'm trying to find a decent tailor in the South Bay Area to get some custom shirts made. I'm only 21, and have always hated the way RTW shirts fit me because I'm somewhat shortish (5'8") with fairly broad shoulders and a small waist for my height (~43" and 27").

Can anyone offer some suggestions for where to get nice, slim dress shirts made and hopefully a price-range, as well?

Vitarelli Clothier and Tailor (Giovanni Vitarelli) in Santa Clara at the Franklin Mall. I have always purchased my shirts, etc., on Ebay and then taken them to him for custom tailoring. If you can get past his very thick Italian accent, he is a great tailor. He has done the tailoring on all of my Kiton suits, my shirts, and slacks. He has also done repair work that can only be described as magical. His reweaving is so perfect I could not tell where he had done it and I brought it to him!

I go to SCU so hearing there's someone that close is definitely good news.

Having grown up right down the street from SCU I can tell you, what I am sure you already know, that you are at a great university.

As to the tailor, Mr. Vitarelli will take very good care of your needs. I would go see him at the Frankling Mall, 1076 Monroe St., (408) 241-2943, and then after go to the Thai Pepper restaurant nearby him in the mall for an incredibly delicious and inexpensive lunch. Personally, I would just order the spring rolls and crab cakes - nothing better!

Good luck to you.

Thai Pepper is great. I've been there quite a few times. (maybe not as many times as I've been to Santa Clara Liquor, but enough)
