Sources of engravable gold cufflinks and double Prince Albert pocket watch chains?

Hello,

It seems like these old classics are hard to come by. I am referring to gold oval, round, or square, double sided cufflinks that could be engraved -- not the sort where one side is a post. I am also referring to the double Prince Albert watch chain (as seen on this page http://reviews.ebay.com/Victorian-Po...0000004629700).

I suppose I could just watch ebay like a hawk, but I don't relish that...nor do I relish paying for low quality gold that is marked up because it is attached to some 'fancy-pants' vendor.

I know I can get double-sided silver oval cufflinks from teasuredfinds.com. Or rather, I could. I just went to their website and they don't seem to be there any more. I've contacted them about it.

So...do you folks know of any reasonable prices for either of these things? Thinking about it, I do know a jeweler in LA, maybe I could get a kickstarter project going for the gold cufflinks and see if he'd be interested in a group purchase? I think I'm going to find out if he could do them for just me. Let me know if there is interest (actually, perhaps the community should be thinking if there are any other such projects that kickstarter could be used for).

Cheers.

Good point. I've been a bit focused on thrift stores and full retail here in Atlanta. I hadn't considered that option, even though it seems obvious. I'll do some google research...thanks.

I would contact a manufacturing jeweler. Here in Philly, I would go to D'Antonio and Klein on Jeweler's Row and ask them how to proceed.

Thanks,
I suppose that is the other option. If something interesting happens, I'll post something later.
