Source for non-cedar show trees?

My wife has problems with cedar and I need some shoe trees. So I am looking for some ideas and sources (good prices as well) for some shoe trees. I have some of the "travel" plastic ones and they do not have much shape to them. I am sure they are doing the basic's but I would think something for more mass and shape would keep my shoes looking good for longer?

Hi Voodoo

I don't know if it's your bag, but I have found non-cedar ones at thrift shops for about 2 bucks or so for the pair. These are wood ones that are adjustable and 'snap' into the shoe, expanding (getting wider) at the front part in the process.

The ones that I get are nicely shaped wood and seem to be pretty good quality.

I think you can buy decent non-cedar shoe trees at Target and Wal-Mart

Thrift shops sound like a plan, not that I really know many once I moved to Atlanta but I am sure there are some around.

Have to check the big box stores as well it would appear.

Any other great ideas?

I've always heard bad things about metal and plastic trees, particularly that they trap moisture. What about just using wadded-up newspaper or socks?
