Sorry, another quick Nudie question.

I did a quick search and couldn't find my answer.

I bought a pair of Bootcut Ola dry the other day in 30 waist and 32 length. They fit perfectly but the leg needs to be about 1" shorter.

I've already turned the jeans inside out, soaked them in cold water for 30 minutes then let them air dry. They didn't really shrink at all. I want to go and have them hemmed now so they fit right.

My question is: now that they have been soaked and let dry, will they shrink when they are finally washed? If they will shrink then I won't bother having them hemmed. If they won't, then I'll have it done.

if its just an inch i would leave em.

another option would be to get them hemmed and then stretch them out when wet if they are too short after a wash. I had the same dilemma with my RR's and I just left them, mainly because I was too lazy to get to a tailor

I had my olas hemmed and when I washed them (hot water) they barely shrank. I'd only worn mine for 2months (almost every day though), but if I were you I'd go and have them hemmed.

one inch? dont hem them. wait it out. you might not need to in the end.

Normally I'd advise not hemming them, since my Nudies have shrunk 1+ inches, but I've only owned Nudie jeans made of the Japanese selvage denim, not the lighterweight Italian stuff that they use in the Olas. Sounds like the Ola denim doesn't shrink much at all. You're probably safe to hem them.

After a year and a half of mistreatment, a small hole appeared at the hem of my bootcut Ola. So, it's lighter weight denim, but tough.
I wouldn't bother hemming them. I usually wear 30x32 with a cuff, and my ola are 30x34 and I like the bunching with boots.

Don't forget that the length will shorten as the honeycombs form behind the knees. I wouldn't hem them, at least not until after the first real wash.
