Just checked: the two brown ones (you can just make out the solid one to the left) are Barba four-folds. The blue ones are Dell'Oglio (the latter is a shop in Palermo I recently discovered -- same silk and construction quality as the better known Neapolitan makers).

I dunno, but more this morning since putting it on. I was so stoked to get it yesterday I even took a picture of the box.



I think I might have got the last of that material. They were even kind enough to adjust the dimensions for me, not to mention that they made it in two days and shipped it in five. I really am knocked out by it, it seems like the platonic ideal of the summer tie to me.

Is shantung strictly spring/summer?

I personally probably won't wear it much until next spring, so I'm hoping for a couple more warm days before the miserable English autumn sets in. I did try one of my other shantungs with a tweed jacket earlier this year at the tail end of winter, and didn't really like the effect much:

Spoiler: Because spoilering is the polite thing to do.

I almost went this way recently, but instead opted for the Navy with orange flowers. Pics hopefully to come by the end of the week.

Disagree, I've seen some VERY nice Duchamp ties.


I realize this is an ancient quote but I'm reading this thread as a new user so... Totally agree. I have 1 Duchamp tie and love it. It's certainly loud (would never qualify for this thread), dunno when I'd wear it (save at an office where I was comfortable after a while, with a while shirt), but it's awesome.
