1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Beautiful music from Iran. I have no idea who the composer or conductor are - or any information about the recording at all, to be honest. Can shah or jet (or ???) provide a translation?

I don't know what the text is in the description it's in Arabic. I think it's surely Hossein Alizadeh's Ney Nava (نینوا = نی +‌نیوا )
نی Ney is simple wind instrument, نیوا nava means tune or sound.

    [RE-ENACTMENT]

    • Dragged to Emo's to meet my friend's drinking buddy, a soft-spoken, older kid from Temple, Texas named Britt. Britt seems cool enough. Smart, self-deprecating. A surprising knowledge of local bands. We'd even read some of the same books. Halfway through our fries, he excuses himself and walks past the restrooms and right up on stage, next to the frailest acoustic guitar I have ever seen. He duct tapes a tiny microphone over the sound hole and says, Hi, we are Spoon, and this is called Dismember, and then he politely clears his throat, and then sets the air on fire in this particular way I haven't heard before or since.
    • Talks Malte Laurids Brigge with Caithlin De Marrais, but we're both half-deaf
    • Hears Chasing Heather Crazy, realizes the world is full of pleasures left uncovered
    • Takes lonely friend to see Toadies, friend meets girl, falls in love
    • Asks Malkmus to play uptempo version of Grounded, Malkmus does
