hahaha yeah there is something so captivating about it. You all laugh but I bet most of us will secretly return to it and watch it again. My hope is that we can get enough of a spike in views to that video so below the view count it says "As seen on: Styleforum.net" so any future watchers of the video will think it's supposed to be a stylistic inspiration

Plus I feel like that's using a keytar to its fullest potential.

Since sipang has brought back tektonik, it;s time for some lessons. I filmed him doing these moves last time I was in bruxelles, sorry for grainy quality it was pre-upgrade.

he still has the sneakers but only wears them on the basketball court (not to play in) and fortunately has haircut now

I used to listen to that Yelle remix all the time, good (fluokids) times. You took an easy cop out by showcasing a dancing video and the Yelle one (music not tecktonik and video a parody), to truly understand the horror of that long dead movement you have to watch actual teckto vids like this one:

Yes, people actually dressed like that.

yeah but i didn't want to suffer by looking up the stuff i've since tried to block out. i still have nightmares of the haircuts i would encounter in the streets when it had reached critical mass

the worst part is that it's existed as a legitimate dance genre in the US for decades known as popping and was just rebranded by these demonic creatures as tektonik ...

A bunch of kids from the nearby high school still dress like that, they hang out at the subway station, all mullets, pink tanktops and gaudy white belts.

Behold, my awkward phase. (I got nothing to do with that second vid though and you know it !)

Popping and/or locking isn't the same as tecktonik, c'mon dude. You could say it is a variant, anyway the "movement" had its own music, aesthetics and nightclubs and came from hard tech (I think it started in Rotterdam but I might be wrong, the movement was centered in France anyway).

not same but it really looks like they took some ideas from pop/lock , which has been around since the 70s at least , and put a new name on it. derivative garbage and i'm glad it's dying down.

this girl was in nyc a while back performing i missed on the competition but she's pretty good . killer shimmy @ 6:26

oh man, the kids wouldn't stop when I was a wee lad...

    etc etc

I said bro you live in Istres you're a suburb of a future beure colony , the very definition of irrelevance.

(although now bruxelles is also overrun by the maghrébins so that didn't work out in the end I suppose.)

    TOO SOON !

Yep, Brussels doesn't really have suburbs per se so it's easily overrun.
