The song is "How it Ends" by one of my favorite new(ish) bands called Devotchka. They are a sort of pastiche of Spanish, Balkan and various other ethnic musical traditions. I know that sounds like silly NPR music but they are very,very good.
I'm always impressed by the Gears of War commercials. The one for the first one was great too.
