Can anyone comment on the "sleekness" of the Saint Crispin's classic last (e.g., compared to the JL 7000, DG70, or EG 82 lasts--which are all fairly sleek)? Or better yet, post a side-by-side (if it isn't too onerous a request)?

    Thanks in advance!

I happen to have on a classic lasted SC today. I also have JL 7000 (city III) and EG 82 (Malvern), and find the SC contours much more to my foot everywhere, but especially in the waist and arch area which makes for a great fit and silouette. The SC classic is probably the best fitting last in my closet. If I had to compare to the 2 you mention (I don't own ant GGs), it is closer to the EG 82 because of the toe shape, but really not that close.

That must have been from the Rudolph the red-nose reindeer collection one Christmas release back.

I like the SC Balmoral boot but this version has too many things going on. I much prefer the version here when the leather and suede are in the colour as in the picture here.

Must be the Christmas festivities. Doesn't that remind you of Rudolph? :D

tchoy - Great shoes. What colour are those austerity brogues? Are they the black/brown that SC offer?

Also, what leather did you select for your austerity and full brogues, crust or one of the non-crust options? The reason I ask is that a lot of SCs I have seen tend to crease quite prominently around the vamp. Yours don't seem to do that and I'm wondering if it's because you've opted for non-crust leathers?

Thanks Did! The colour is dark brown # 609, the leather is Cru.

They do have a prominent Saint Crispin type crease, not that I mind that at all. I have the exact same model in Austerity brogue in a different color. His probably has not really been worn much yet when this picture was taken.

    Thanks!

Thanks ezlau - your collection on the other SC thread also looks great. The austerity brogue will have to be one of the next SC's I try!

Just wanted to point to the SC Pinterest page for the last views. I find it a helpful reference when shoes of the lasts in question are not at hand http://pinterest.com/saintcrispins/saint-crispin-s-lasts/

A top-view which we've snapped for a customer to compare the F (Standard) width with the G (wider) width in the same size is here:
