New pair of Loake Kemptons in brown suede. Come with the original bags. I have worn them once for about 20 minutes - enough to determine that they are slightly smaller than I like. Will ship anywhere in the US.

Would you say they fit more of an 8 or an 8.5? I was in a shop looking at their 'regular' dress shoes and they were saying to size down by one to reach the 'American' size.

I would say they are a smidge closer to 8, but truly somewhere in between 8 and 8.5. I usually wear US 8.5, and this pair fits me fine (no discomfort), but I'd rather have a little more space in a boot. I would have gone with the standard conversion (size down half size for US sizes), but there are a couple of threads here suggesting to size down a full size in Loakes, and I personally think this is wrong, based on this and other purchases from the UK. This may be subjective, though there are many conversion charts (including one on Loake web site) that suggest that UK 8=US 8.5, and based on my experience I consider this to be more accurate, albeit it ends up marginally roomier than a straight up US 8.5.
