"Cut by hand from the world's finest leathers, each pair of Edward Greens is made in our Northampton workshop according to the same principles that have guided us for over a century. Crafted and honed with unerring attention to detail, our shoes embody the timeless elegance of quintessentially English style."
This is a fine pair of Edward Green shoes. They feature Horween shell cordovan leather, thick leather soles and storm welts. These were sold through venues like Mr. Porter but are now very hard to find - especially in the lovely burgundy shell. These shoes will last a lifetime if cared for properly and will look better and better as they age.
The shoes have been worn little and gently. The shell cordovan leather has not yet creased much where the toes flex (see photos). I gave the shell a quick once-over with a horsehair brush but you could really make them glow with a professional level polish. There are some expected miniscule scratches here and there on the shell that will polish out. The interior of the shoes are fully leather lined and are clean. The right rear inner leather sole pad (where your heel sits) has some dark markings but it's cosmetic only (I can't feel it with my finger and the leather is fine). The original thick leather soles have more than 99% of life remaining. Same with heels: excellent with most of their life remaining (the edges are still 'square'). The welts are clean and stitching everywhere is straight and tight. The shoes are totally stable, beautiful, and ready to wear. Please see the photos and feel free to ask question
As mentioned, I gave the shoes a very quick brushing with a horsehair brush but did not use any product. They look great but the beautiful shell is just starting to 'bloom' a touch with the natural oils coming up and they would benefit from a proper polishing.
Measurement along bottom of outsole, taken at longest and widest points...
Length: 12.5 inches
Width: 4.5 inches
Shipping CONUS will be a flat rate of $19.95 with insurance included.
Feel free to PM me with questions.
