Software for making mixes/mix CDs on OS X?

Feeling disconnected from music lately, I think I'm going to start putting together mixes and uploading them for my facebook friends or mailing out CDs or something.

iTunes is useless - no good way to make one long mix. VirtualDJ for the PC is what we use at the club for playing music, but **** is ungodly expensive (I'm not completely averse to pirating, but I'd rather just get something legit - free or up to $100).

Don't need fancy **** - just a fader and easy recording (either MP3 output or to CD).

Not sure, but I thought Garageband could. I had friends who wrote their own music on Garageband and they all said the software was pretty impressive, and it comes standard with OS X.

+ 1 for Garageband.

I use iTunes for simple playlists and burning CDs - easily up to anything I nend to do, but I did do a course of Garageband and the shite that programme can do is amazing.
