Socks with beat-up wingtips and jeans?

I recently found a very nice pair of Alden wingtips, kind of a walnut color, at a thrift store for under three dollars. I don't have a belt that matches them for business wear, so I'll be pressing them into service as casual shoes for a while.

What kind of socks will look good with unpolished brown wingtips, cuffed RRDS, and a t-shirt or short-sleeved button-down?

Thanks as always!

Argyles or colors... if you want to be sedate just get medium gray or gray/blue. Avoid really thin socks with jeans, it looks too delicate IMO.

Smartwools are a good option.

If you want to Thom Browne it, get peds, those little socks that don't show above the shoe line.

I've never seen "Thom Browne" used as a verb, but I think it's safe to say I won't be Thom Browne-ing it.

Another option is ribbed, in a medium or dark neutral.
