I can't seem to find a decent sock that stays up. Granted I have a relatively large calf so maybe there's no hope, but has anyone found a sock that stays up on their calf. I've tried Pantharella with no luck so I've resorted to just accepting there's nothing out there and sticking with inexpensive pairs.

Do brands like Bresciani or Gallo stay up? Is Viccel worth a try? Anyone have experience with socks maintaining their elasticity well? Not really considering wearing sock garters so looking for any insight from fellow SF members.

Many thanks

I assumed you were already wearing over-the-calf socks. If not, why not? I wear mostly Pantherella OTC socks. They stay put.

I will have to look into OTC. I always bought basic cotton and wool. Any other recommendations for brands besides Pantharella that SF members prefer?

I use Mazarin, Gammarelli, Bresciani, William Abraham. But any OTC sock will stay up.

Thank you @12345Michael54321 and @Andy57 for the OTC recommendation...solved my problems. Picked up some bamboo/cotton OTC socks and slippage has been eliminated. Hopefully they maintain their elasticity with washes.

You're welcome.

Now I've got to turn you on to wool OTC socks. They're even better than bamboo/cotton. (Plus, in many cases, "bamboo" socks are simply rayon socks, with the rayon derived from bamboo.)

Oh, and to head off the anticipated objection, wool socks are not unusually warm, and they aren't just for cold weather. Wool socks can actually be quite comfortable even when temperatures are not at all frosty.
