Sock Washing/Drying

Hello,

I've recently purchased a bunch of Talbott OTC socks (both in wool and cotton blends). I understand that washing in cold or warm water is fine. But, what about drying? Can I put them in the dryer on a medium or low heat without damaging or shrinking the socks?

Thanks

I am in the same boat. How do you suggest hang drying them? I am worried about them stretching. Are they better laid flat?

One of these cheap contraptions in the basement (reminder to self: cross-post this in Nice Rack thread as we've hit a wall on material over there):

Wool:

Turn inside out

Machine was cold in one of those knit bags for handwashing.

then i lay them flat to dry.

Cotton:

Turn inside out

Machine was hot in one of those knit bags.

Dry on medium heat.

There isn't enough weight in a sock for hang drying to stretch, and even if they do, it's less than when you wear them.
