Sock Ties made on Sock Machine

Are knit ties really made on the same machine as socks?

I have heard this is the case. The machine is much cheaper than the computer weaver (up to 100,000 USD for one), but most tie factories (at least here in China) do not have this machine.

As its been explained to me, Yes. (At least that kind of machine a Tubular Knitting machine)

Which is probably why knit ties aren't as popular as regular ties.
