Okay, so my SDA 103 has officially been labelled "too tight" of a fit (it's exactly how Cheap looks in a his Sam's) by society at large and I want one more pair to throw in the rotation to balance them out. Here is a list of conditions I am looking to find:

-Japanese denim
-Selvage
-Around 32 or 33 Waist
-At least a 36 inseam (I am very tall)
-Regular Fit
-Straight Leg (no taper, no bootcut)
-Normal Rise
-Less than or equal to around $230

Notes:
I like hidden rivets, but they are not a necessity; same goes with coin pocket selvage, slubiness, irregularities and an uncomfortable feeling denim (such as the straw like fibers in Canes)

Possible brands I've found to be the most promising so far:
Oni (blue, in particular), Sugarcane (don't know what the model number I'm looking for would be), Flat Head (especially the Self Edge deal of the month), Samurai.

I also wouldn't mind looking at 5EP or Rag and Bone cut similar to the specs discussed if the price was compelling.

Thank you for any thoughtful replies, they are appreciated.

whatev, screw your friends. sd-103's aren't even that tight.

anyway, i have a pair of new unworn APC English Cut in size 33 if you're interested. same great denim as NS, but truly straight leg and slightly lower rise than rescues. they were soaked about 30 minutes but didn't lose any color. PM me if you're interested.

What is everyone's opinion of the Flat Head pair in comparison to the Oni's?

this is just an assumption from looking at them, but i think flatheads are trimmer and slimmer. they fade realllllly nicely, check this out, its the same denim the use for most of their jeans, just a bootcut fit. http://www.rockcandy.jp/f_jeans_fold...used_kazu.html

i would get them just for that . . . i'm pretty sure theres a straight leg relaxed version at rakuten or what not.

Oh yea, Flat Head 3003. 3001 is the slim model and 3003 is the regular fit. I've seen some sufu guys rocking the hell out of the 3003. Not baggy but won't be confused for tight.

PBJs
Flathead 3003s
Onis
Eternal makes a regular fit brand but harder to buy
Sugarcane makes a ton of good regular fit jeans. You can splurge with the okinawas or union stars are expensive, but they have some regular fits on history preservation.

Here's where we are:

Oni Red or Blue (really can't get my head totally around the size)

or

Flat Head 5100 from Self Edge for $236

If you're looking at the oni blue, it may be worthwhile looking at the PBJ XX-003 and XX-006 also. You guys concerned that the blue may be too slim?

Yeah, the last thing I want is to accidently buy too slim. The 103's are amazing, but I want something more... "normal?"

XX-004 = is like a boot cut XX-005.
The XX-006 is XX-003 cut with "vintage" denim.

T, Put up some pictures. They may not be too tight but something you're just not used to. And remember this particular denim is a ***** to stretch. I"m wearing my 103's and I was in a panic cause as you know I sized up to a 33 and these F'ers were tight. I haven't taken them off other than to shower
and they are getting just right after 3 days and two nights of sleeping in them. What you're going to like is that once they get right they won't keep stretching like Nudie or APC.

Be patient Grasshopper, and post pics. They might look great but are just not the look YOU want. Mike
