I am not a member of a club and I don't have season tickets to sporting events.

Any suggestions for good reciprocal social events after having been someone's guest at a golf/social club or sporting event? I am in NYC.

Do whatever you like. The only rule is that some reciprocal invitation is required.

Miss Manners would point out - and has, many times - that there is no need for the reciprocal invitation to match the original one, either in price, locale, or type. That's what allows a person without much money to both receive and extend invitations. Makes sense.

So, do whatever: dinner out, dinner over, theater, art show, movie/drink, Barbara Cook at the Algonquin, whatever.

ask them is they "swing"

at best, you'll spice up your love life, at worst you'll never have to worry about the need to reciprocate again...or is it the other way around?
