I could not wait to go home and watch on DVR so I am reading the BBC scroll, as I call it, and it seems like Portugal are doing exactly what they need to do. Need a goal. Hoping Nani but will take one from anyone on the Portugal side.
Van Marwijk reported to have quit by ESPN, can't find any other sources confirming this though
Get the hell out of here what was that from ronaldo best opportunity and he sent it to row z
Will we get to penalties? Better question, will we get to see Ronaldo miss another one?
They commented that a few European papers have confirmed this as well.
Much more depressing second half. I love the drama of penalties, but don't want to see it go to that.
Man this game started with some flow... and then it just broke down. Spain isn't effective in breaking down Portugal, and I dont think Casillas has had to block a shot on goal
Second half was terrible. I wonder what Spain would look like with David Villa in the tournament.
^^No but I fear penalties will not benefit Portugal.
The Portuguese look exhausted...
Never knew Ramos had such a good free kick in him...
Goodness gracious. What was that Nani business?
CR7 not willing to step up.
Why the hell did Alves take a strike? Ronaldo, Oliveira, Varela and they choose defenders? I get that maybe you'd want someone the keeper isn't expecting but that's a serious risk and obviously it came up short
It was never going to be good for Portugal on PKs.
I don't get the Varela substitution after that penalty lineup. If you aren't going to use him for one, why not bring in someone who you will use?
