Trapattoni has done a great job with them..

    Their big players are finished..

Keane,Duff ,Dunne and Given are gone..

Sad for a brave Irish team..

Come on boys... would you have given the brave admiration speech if this were England or Italy? Call a duck a duck.

Shay Given is a stalwart. Has played well everywhere he's gone and saved a really, really embarrassing score line from making the Irish look as bad as they really were. Honestly, N Korea were better in the WC when Portugal put 8 past them.

Trapattoni has really done a great job with what he had at his disposal..

    Look at their team sheet...

A lot of countries would never have qualified with that team.

Already booked myself and my staff on the calendar for the game today. Another 3 hours of lost productivity.

The entire point is that they're not an England or an Italy. Ireland doesn't have nearly the same quality in their squad as either of those teams. Duff, Dunne, and Keane can barely move. St. Ledger has never played a top flight game in his life. Three years ago, Keith Andrews was playing in the fourth tier of English football. Just getting to the Euros was an achievement for the Irish, but unfortunately that was as far as they got. Your North Korean comparison is a joke. 4-0 against anyone is bad, even if it's against the world champions. 8-0 against a much inferior Portuguese side? Get out of here.

I say Sweden by 2:1. But I am of course privileged to know a bit about the poor state of the English national football team.

The English are often victims of bad calls and dirty tactics. Please educate yourself.
