Thanks guys, I'll try to add tentacles in my next post, to up the ante. To be fair I was kinda inspired by Allen.

"Alvy Singer: You, you, you're like New York, Jewish, left-wing, liberal, intellectual, Central Park West, Brandeis University, the socialist summer camps and the, the father with the Ben Shahn drawings, right, and the really, y'know, strike-oriented kind of, red diaper, stop me before I make a complete imbecile of myself.
Allison: No, that was wonderful. I love being reduced to a cultural stereotype."

Except switch cultural for sexual.

Oh lord give me a break w this PC crap. I have a news flash for you, there are some pretty serious cultural differences across the world in how woman treat men, and this is beyond obvious to any single man who has ever left the comfy confines of the developed western world. Are there exceptions? Of course - there are exceptions whenever one tries to assign certain characteristics to a group of people, but the fact of the matter is these certain characteristics will be present with a much greater incidence in one group over another. This is induction, not deduction - finding one counterexample does not render the reasoning faulty. To rile the PC police even more, this is why I believe stereotypes exist - why some believe that finding one counterexample makes any such claim ridiculous is beyond me.

That said - any guy here who is happy with the way most American/Western women act and treat them, then more power to you. Believe me - Im not trying to convince you to think any differently - more of the real gems for me.......

I never thought I'd be lumped in with Fuuma as "too PC". Life is funny sometimes. NYBuck, I completely agree with you that many people behave in accordance with their cultural norms. Many, certainly not all.
I think the main thing Fuuma was alluding to was the fantasy-based Asian fetish that some of our younger posters have. It wasn't, as far as I can tell, meant as an attack on you personally.
I personally like an independent/"western" women more than the docile/submissive type that you seem to prefer. I like a challenge. People have differing opinions and tastes. That's what's great about free will.

FL - perhaps I misread him, in which case I withdraw my above tone.

On the flip side - I prefer South American women, and I assure you the cultural norm (insert this hereafter to avoid objections from exceptions) is not "docile/submissive" in the least. Additionally, they have proven to be more of a challenge to me than any American woman. Perhaps it is my fault for not being clear about what I find appealing about them. I dont want a "docile" woman - but I do want a woman, not a man, and I think that line of demarcation has become quite smeared here in the States. I want a woman who puts her family before her career. I want a woman who wants to be a good wife/gf/mother more than she wants a LV bag or a new Ford Explorer w the Eddie Bauer package. I want a woman who has sex because she likes it, not because it is a chore or she is looking for something from her husband. While I think the sexes are equal, I also think we are different, and with that difference comes somewhat different roles. The South American culture seems celebrate this. Our culture seems to crucify anyone who even acknowledges that differences could exist. I know this is kinda of rambling, but I think you get my point.

To try to tie this up - I will leave you with one more antecdote. I have a group of friends that I normally play poker with once every few months. Two of these guys are married, lets call them Rob and John. Ive known both guys for years and they are both very even tempered good guys. They both got married about five years ago to two very then attractive women. Lets call them Lois and Martha. The main difference I could tell at the time is Lois was an American born white girl and Martha was born and lived in Colombia until she was 12. Fast forward to our poker game at my place three weeks ago. Our game ran a little long, and both Rob and John got a little tipsy so I offered to drive them both home. When we got to Johns house - Martha opened the door, ran off the stoop, jumped on him in a full body hug (with her still perfect body) and started kissing him. God only knows what happened when they finally got in the house. Rob sat there and shook his head. We then got to Robs house and as he started to walk up the steps, Lois poked her now full face out though the door and yelled - "Where the **** have you been? You're late! And I told you twice to take the ******* garbage out this morning!" She then turned an closed the door behind her. Rob turned to me as I was getting ready to pull out and said - "Welcome to my life."

Yes, I know this is only one case (the exception?!?), but its really quite consistent from what I have seen from these two cultures over the years. I just know which house Id rather be living in......

F**ck, I was going to comment but I see he's played the PC card, which makes his position magically unassailable! Foiled again . . .

To clarify my earlier spoof I was ALSO taking a shot at NewYorkBuck. But he called me PC because I don't subscribe to über-clichÃ

common (not to that many people) wisdom so I'm kinda stuck now. I think I'll just go bang one of those eastern european bitches, they may all be cold as ice but they'll do anything for money and fur coats over there so it's all good.

No - I was calling you PC because you were using ridiculous exaggerations in a lame attempt to show that it is ghastly to even suggest that there are intrinsic cultural differences across people and boarders........

But as you said - its all good.....

To the OP comments, I didn't understand what you were trying to get at and I didn't read the subsequent posts by others
