i was under the impression i am getting a kiton cashmere sweater at a reasonably discounted price.
...but with a todd & duncan tag?
no confezionato per sig tag.
just this and a standard kiton tag at the collar.

ok.
i don't own enough kiton cashmere to really say if the tag's presence is plausible to be found in an authentic garment. (which is why i posted here...)
but it seemed to me like the kind of thing you would find if somebody had just sewn a tag into another brand's shirt.

Unless the Kiton tag at the collar looks suspicious, this is a waste of a thread. You said the Kiton tag is in place, you said the seller is a reputable one, and Todd & Duncan are provably an established cashmere company: "We supply cashmere yarn to the world's top couture houses and international contemporary fashion designers." You haven't indicated that you've contacted the original ("highly regarded") seller. You even have a member here asserting that T&D make Kiton's cashmere, which is precisely what you asked.

yes the original seller was contacted and he said exactly the same thing as the poster who suggested they supply the fabric to kiton.

so case closed?

in my experience shopping all of the kiton cashmere sweaters i have seen have consistenly similar tags.
1 on top stating the size and the other stating the fabric, etc.

while a few others i have seen have a "no confezionato per sig" tag...

but obviously i am by no means an expert.

i just wanted to see if i could get any more insight from other people who may be more knowledgeable on the particular type of item to see if they had ever encountered this themselves...

even with the rationale provided, it just seemed a little peculiar to me.

You're taking a chance every time you buy something on ebay. These ebay sellers run their business out of their closet so it's not like a legitimate retailer.
