The word is you won't have power until Tuesday. I'm sorry.

Pete, where do you live?

Fortunately, I have power and heat and I'm even at work today.

People suck at driving. There are assholes and then there are the overly cautious type who cause accidents by being thickheaded, and then there are the d-bags who don't bother to shovel the snow off the tops of their cars.

Anyways, these are the days when I'm happy I went with the AWD model over the RWD model with the racy engine.

My folks have been without power since Friday night. They seem to be managing well though.

I'm in silver spring, near downtown. We're going to camp at a friends tonight and just go to work tomorrow, power or not. I wish we were better equipped to deal with it--fireplace or generator or something. Luckily, we have a gas stove and hot water.

Because of where I live, severe winter weather is really just an inconvenience to me. We are equipped for big snow, big winds and crazy cold.

I hope you all find a way to cope with the unexpected messes you've been hit with this winter. Stay warm, and stay off the roads.

I just dug out my car. I'm taking tomorrow off and going grocery shopping early then hunkering down until Thursday at least.

NWS just upped estimates. 10-20 more inches of this ****. With the roads in awful shape as they are, I can't imagine that another foot or so of snow is going to leave the roads even remotely passable. I may get shut out of work Wednesday, but we'll see. Have to get more rations, firewood, and liquor tonight. The delivery rooms are going to be overloaded in October.

Some of the schools around here are already throwing in the towel and closing for the rest of the week.

Just got back from a walk to whole foods - the only "accessible" store at the moment - sidewalks at intersections are terrible and the roads are a mess (saw a FedEx truck sitting stuck at an intersection)
