Hey, came across these boards a few minutes ago, you all look like a great group of people!

I'm a senior in highschool (guy) and I am looking for a pair of shoes to wear with jeans. I want to have style, but they need to be somewhat athletic or athletic enough for me to run in them with gym shorts.

I would appreciate any suggestions you could throw my way!

What you want does not exist. You need two different sets of sneakers. Buy decent running shoes then check one of the sneaker threads for stylish sneakers.

you should post this in the sneaker thread, but here is what you do:

1. buy a pair of running shoes for running. only wear these shoes when running

2. buy a pair of shoes for walking around. only wear these shoes when walking around.

There I just saved you from looking marsupialed.

I think Clae and Generic Surplus both have good options for Sneakers, then there is Converse (classic), and Nike's lifestyle brands and SB's. I like the Nike Aina Chukka. Generic Surplus are cheap and good looking, they have an extensive webstore and are easy to find (same with Clae).

None of these really fit the workout/running bill, but you absolutely could do that in any of them.

I've mostly moved on from Sneakers, but I used to be crazy about them...everything I mentioned above is good. Clae and Generic Surplus are clean from branding and are a step above anything you would find in a Foot Locker. Nike can be great if you get the limited edition or lifestyle branded ones. They just did a collab with Harris Tweed that is incredible but probably out of the price range you are looking for and also sold out.
