So within the next few months I plan on getting something other than another BlackBerry. Is there anything on the horizon I should look into? I'm not sure I want an iPhone but it's certainly an option. What else should I take into consideration?

iPhone -Very simple to use -Nothing goes wrong -Limited functionality -Clean aesthetic -Limited ability to expand functionality Blackberry -More complex to use -More complex functionality -Greater ability to customise appearance and style -BBM is a good free way to communcate with other BB users It boils down to what you want; the iPhone is like a minimalist appartment - clean and consise. The Blackberry is like a self-build project - complicated and time consuming to set up and learn but ultimatley much more customisable. I use iPhone my dad uses BlackBerry and both of us are very happy.

What about the Droid, HTC phones, etc.? Do they have nice browsers, app capability?

My concern with the iPhone is its lack of Flash but I guess that's not a dealbreaker.

if you don't get an iphone or a blackberry you're stepping down in terms of...well, you're getting a worse phone by a good bit.

get an iphone if you like playing stupid games and making fart noises with your phone. get a blackberry if you need **** to work quickly and effectively like email and messaging.

FWIW, by virtue of a Cool Story Bro, I scored a free Blackberry Storm. It is apparently one of the worst Blackberries ever made. I like it way better than I liked the HTC Tattoo running Android. I found the OS pretty unintuitive personally. Despite that, I still consider my iPhone 2 to be the worst phone I have ever owned, but my best friend is still using it pretty happily. Most of my friends seem to love their HTC Droids and i4s though...

My family went to the htc Evo 4g a few weeks ago. My dad prefers it to the Iphone 3GS he had before.

I've never used an HTC but the browser and app capability on my droid x is fine. It's only got the largest screen available so forum-ing is a breeze. What are you looking for with apps? They pretty much have the same ones as iphone with a few exceptions. Can bb or iphone be rooted and have the entire display setup/design changed? That's what I really like about mine is how I pretty much can use any custom theme from xda and completely change the look of the phone os.

Depends on use. Personally, if it will be email centric, BB and its qwerty keyboard is still the best.

If it's more about web surfing and not much email, its gotta be iphone or evo. I don't think there are better internet browsing phones out right now.

Get the EVO.

If you're interested in an even bigger screen, go for the Dell Streak.

love my EVO, tons of threads in fine living and such

I dont think i could ever use a phone with a smaller screen. I look at my friends' incredibles and iphones and they seem so tiny.
