Small Travel Bag?

I would be interested to see if anyone has any thoughts / advice on this.

Am looking for a smaller shoulder bag to take on a trip - to use as a small carry on and then to carry in the city on vacation to carry odds and ends as I am moving around. Don't want anything too large - just enough to carry a wallet, sunglass case, perhaps my ipad, bottle of water, keys and such. I also want something that looks as little "man purse" like as possible.

Most of the messenger type bags I have seen are a little too large and would have too much unused space. On the other hand, some tiny shoulder bags look way too purse-like.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The Filson field bag comes to mind ... probably the smaller version. Or thery make something for holding shotgun shells, which would certainly defeat any 'purse' connotations.

Also, check out the offerings from Red Oxx for a more 'space-age polymers' set of options.

The small Filson field bag was my first thought as well.

Crane's is an affilliate of this forum and offers Filson at a discount to retail.
